Blythe Thomas
Director, 1,000 Days
Blythe is the Initiative Director at 1,000 Days, working to win support for investments in the nutrition and well-being of mothers, babies, and toddlers in the U.S. and around the world. As Director, Blythe is focused on growing the Initiative’s influence and shaping the national dialogue with media, policymakers, partner organizations and parents. She manages fundraising, strategic planning, business development and an amazing team of advocates on issues related to food, nutrition, maternal, infant and young child health and development in the first 1,000 days.
Prior to joining 1,000 Days, Blythe was the Chief Marketing Officer at the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), a non-profit focused on creating better food and more movement for all families. Prior to PHA, Blythe held progressive leadership roles in marketing and philanthropy at the American Red Cross National Headquarters, The Nature Conservancy and Kansas Health Foundation. Blythe has a particular passion for focusing on policy, system and environmental changes to achieve organizational mission.
Blythe received her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Broadcasting at Oklahoma State University. She lives in Arlington, VA, with her two sons. Outside of FHI Solutions, Blythe spends as much time with her teenage kids as they will tolerate!
